MEET THE PARTNERS
Jo Weaver founded JWA Prague, a premier marketing and PR agency, in 1991. It quickly became one of the leading agencies in the Czech Republic, specializing in real estate, hospitality, retail, and sports. Over the past 30 years, the JWA team has partnered with some of the country’s most prominent companies and investors.
Since 2010, in addition to running JWA, Jo has expanded her career into sports management and representation. She has worked with numerous world-renowned athletes and contributed to high-profile sports events and venues, including the Velka Pardubicka horse race, SkiPark Chuchle, and the Prague International Marathon.
Jo served as Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic from early 2004 to October 2007, and played a key role in founding the International Business Forum, where she remains an active board member. In 2001, she was named one of the top five foreign businesswomen in the Czech Republic. She was also nominated for the ‘Women of the Year’ awards in the ‘Marketing and Communications’ category in both 2005 and 2006. Additionally, Jo was a judge in the ‘Women of the Year’ competition in 2007 and 2008 and is a sought-after speaker at seminars and conferences on business, marketing, and public relations across Central Europe.
For the past 15 years, Jo has split her time between Prague and Marbella, Spain, where she has been actively involved in buying and selling high-end properties, both for herself and on behalf of clients. Her extensive network, coupled with her exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, has made her a trusted figure for clients seeking a reliable and experienced guide through the property market.
Jan Grozdanovic was born in Czechoslovakia and studied law at the prestigious Charles University in Prague before defecting to the United Kingdom in 1980. From 1981 to 1985, he attended the London School of Economics, during which time he completed articles at Gregory, Rowcliffe & Co. In 1988, he qualified as an English solicitor. Over the years, Jan has gained extensive experience in the legal field, including a year at the City of London firm Berwin Leighton, six years at the London offices of international firms such as Baker & McKenzie and Allen & Overy, and 11 years at Seddons Solicitors. There, he spent the final two years as Managing Partner of their Prague Office, before founding his own firm, JGA Legal, in 2006.
Jan was admitted to practise law as an advocate in the Czech Republic in 1995. He is one of the few dual-qualified English and Czech solicitors practising globally and is also a registered arbitrator with the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic and Agricultural Chambers of the Czech Republic. He was a founding member of the Association for Foreign Investment in the Czech Republic (of which he is now an Honorary Member) and served as Chairman of the British Czech and Slovak Law Association of the United Kingdom. Jan was also a member of the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce from 1997 to 2000 and again from 2003 to 2006. He is a founding member of the International Business Forum and a regular public speaker on legal issues related to doing business in the Czech Republic.
In addition to his legal work, Jan is an avid runner, having completed 16 marathons (including the historic Marathon to Athens) and 12 half marathons. He divides his time between Prague and Marbella, frequently spending time in the UK to meet the needs of his clients. Jan has represented numerous Czechs and Slovaks based in Marbella and works closely with several leading local law firms. This network ensures that, while providing hands-on legal support, he can also draw on the expertise of Spanish legal specialists when needed.
